Neighborhood folk and travelers alike pass through this doorway in search of astonishingly delicious breakfast and lunch comfort foods. The space is cozy, helped by the vibrant colors and sunshine from the windows, as diners gather at the counter and tables to kick off their day with a hearty meal, or just spend an hour or two stowed away from the worries of the world. Like the cafe itself, the menu at Coulis is small by some standards, but has plenty of heft when it comes to satisfying hearty appetites and those cravings for downhome cooking. Breakfast runs daily from 7am-2pm, offering up everything from Huevos Rancheros to Grillades and Grits to the Ultimate French Toast, a cream cheeses stuffed piece of heaven that is then topped with caramelized apples, smoked sausage, pecans, maple syrup, and whipped cream. When lunch rolls around weekdays from 11am-2pm, some diners go a different route, choosing options like the Half-Pound Angus Burger, Pulled Pork Quesadilla, or a classic B.L.T. on sourdough. Great coffee, juices, sodas, and other beverages are all available, but with its BYOB policy, Coulis makes it possible for you to bring your favorite spirits with you.
