Tools of the Trade: Emma Bliwas Finds Balance Through Language, Movement, and Mindset

At Mogl, our Tools of the Trade series highlights the people behind the work - what drives them, how they think, and the experiences that shape the way they show up for clients every day. For Emma Bliwas, Programmatic Associate with a passion for Spanish-language and travel, those tools extend far beyond the desk.

From bilingual yoga classes to long-distance hikes across Spain, Emma brings curiosity, patience, and consistency into everything she does.

Getting to Know Emma

Emma’s path into advertising was sparked early in her hometown of Glencoe, Illinois. With both her mom and grandpa working in media (her mom at Warner Brothers, Food Network, and CNN, and her grandpa at Eicoff) Emma grew up immersed in the industry.

“When I was younger, my grandpa would take me around the office at Eicoff. One time they were filming a commercial, and I was completely hooked.”

Add in a lifelong love of Super Bowl commercials and storytelling, and advertising quickly felt like a natural fit. That passion led Emma to the University of Denver, where she earned a degree in International Business & Spanish.

Tools Outside the Office: Movement, Language & Community

When Emma isn’t working, she’s usually moving. Spin, yoga, ski fit - you name it. One of her favorite outlets is a bilingual yoga class at Better Buzz Yoga, where she gets to blend two passions: wellness and Spanish.

Her connection to Spanish started early, with classes outside of school as a child. That passion deepened at the University of Denver, where she studied abroad twice - once in Santander and once in Alicante, Spain. Both times, she stayed with host families to fully immerse herself in the language and culture.

“Spanish taught me the importance of learning new cultures and the thrill of being able to communicate in the native language.”

Emma also draws inspiration from hiking - a hobby that’s shaped how she approaches both life and work.

“You can’t just get it done in a few minutes. Like business goals, it’s the little things you do every day that make the difference.”

From Media Strategy to Programmatic

Emma began her career at TelevisaUnivision as a Digital Media Strategist, where she first discovered programmatic advertising. That curiosity led her to Mogl, where she joined as a Programmatic Associate - a role designed to give early-career professionals hands-on exposure across the advertising ecosystem.

“I’m rotating through account management, trading, and sales. Trying everything has helped me understand the business more holistically.”

Emma thrives at the intersection of organization and relationship-building, supporting clients as they scale their businesses using The Trade Desk. She credits much of her growth to being trusted early - joining client calls from day one and now presenting alongside her team.

“I genuinely come into the office happy. It’s a safe, fun place to work, and our values are clear. I’m challenged here, but I always have a strong support system behind me.”

A Journey That Still Guides Her: Camino de Santiago

One of Emma’s most defining experiences happened during her time in Alicante, when she completed a portion of the Camino de Santiago - a five-day trek covering over 100 kilometers (62 miles) across northern Spain.

The journey combined her love for Spanish and hiking, but it was also deeply personal.

“It was very independent. We were in a group, but everyone walked at their own pace. All you had to follow was an arrow on the path.”

Days were long, stretching across Spanish highways, small towns, and winding side streets. Each night ended in mountain huts shared with travelers from around the world - each with their own reason for walking the Camino. That experience still shapes how Emma approaches her career today.

“Even when the days feel long, keeping the end goal in mind matters. Doing a little every day (learning, networking, building confidence) that’s how progress happens.”

Emma brings intention, curiosity, and balance into everything she does. Whether she’s supporting clients, exploring new cultures, or flowing through a bilingual yoga class, her tools are rooted in consistency and connection - and that’s what makes her such a valuable part of the Mogl team!
