Cannes You Feel It? Mogl’s Guide to Cannes 2026

As the days get warmer, that can only mean one thing in the advertising world: Cannes is almost here. Every June, the industry heads to the French Riviera for one of the biggest global gatherings in ad tech, media, and marketing. From networking opportunities to industry insights, the week is packed with conversations, partnerships, and events that shape the future of advertising.

We sat down with Mogl’s UK lead, Andrew Williams, to hear about his past experiences attending Cannes and his advice for both first-time attendees and seasoned participants. Andrew emphasized what a privilege it is to attend an event of this caliber and the importance of using the week to strengthen existing relationships while building new ones.

As Andrew shared, “Cannes is an event where relationships are created and deepened; Cannes really is one of the biggest global events for ad tech.”

As someone deeply involved in the programmatic space, Andrew is especially looking forward to hearing what conversations dominate this year’s festival - from the evolution of CTV and advancements in measurement to the growing importance of transparency across the industry and continued innovation within the open internet.

Top Tips for Cannes 2026

Industry events like Cannes can feel overwhelming between the travel, planning, networking, and packed schedules. Andrew shared a few key tips to help attendees feel more prepared and make the most of their time on the ground.

1. Put Yourself Out There Before You Arrive

In the weeks leading up to Cannes, start posting on LinkedIn that you’ll be attending. It’s a great way to let your network know you’ll be there and can help spark meetings and conversations before the event even begins.

2. Dress Comfortably

There is a lot of walking throughout Cannes, so comfortable clothing and shoes are a must. While the event is professional, the atmosphere is more relaxed than a typical conference.

Andrew’s expert tip: Nice shorts are completely acceptable at Cannes.

3. What to Bring

A few essentials can make your Cannes experience much smoother:

  • Business cards - physical or digital QR code versions for quick networking
  • A notebook to keep track of meetings, ideas, and follow-up reminders
  • A refillable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day (Trust him on this one)
  • Sunscreen for long days spent walking between events and beach activities

4. Register for Events Early

If there are specific activations, panels, or networking events you want to attend, register ahead of time. Popular events fill up quickly, and planning early can help secure your spot.

5. Stay Organized, But Leave Room for Spontaneity

Having pre-scheduled meetings is important, but some of the best conversations at Cannes happen unexpectedly. Leave open time in your schedule for impromptu meetings and introductions.
